I’m Paul Makinen, and I have extensive experience as a translator and software tester extending over 25 years.
While spending a school year abroad in Croatia, I translated a book from Russian and edited one other translation from Russian. I discovered I was good at translation and enjoyed it, so I went on to spend some time translating Soviet television news for a fantastic editor who taught me a lot. This led to several other jobs, including working on a dictionary for a machine-translation project and translating for operations staff at the Washington-Moscow hotline.
Now I translate full-time with many clients in governmental, energy, transportation, and IT sectors.
